Healthcare Life Safety Code & Emergency Management Consultant

Jensen Hughes is looking for is an energetic, detail-focused team member to provide exceptional Life Safety Code® and Emergency Management consulting.  This position ideally will be based out of our Concord, CA office or our other offices in Anaheim, Los Angeles or San Diego, CA. A remote work location in CA will be considered on a case-by-case basis.   

Responsible for full wall to wall fire code assessments of healthcare facilities for compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations including NFPA, Joint Commission, CMS, DNV and other AHJs. Also familiar with Emergency Management principals and concepts and able to apply those to and emergency management consulting, program assessments and HVA’s, plan/procedure design, training and drills/exercises for our healthcare clients. It is important to recognize that Jensen Hughes is not only a consulting firm, but we are implementers for our clients utilizing our expertise and technology systems. • Demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment and effectively manage communications


• Demonstrate the ability to translate codes, regulations, guidelines and standards into practical processes


• Possess a strong knowledge of the NFPA 101 (The Life Safety Code®), The Joint Commission LS and EC standards and working knowledge of all appropriate NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 72 and 25)


• Capable of conducting full wall-to-wall assessments of healthcare facilities and capture information, develop plans of correction and work with clients to implement


• Possess a strong knowledge of the CMS 2016 Emergency Preparedness Rule, The Joint Commission EM, DNV and HFAP standards, and baseline knowledge of NFPA standards (e.g., 99-12, 1600)


• Effectively coordinate and facilitate workshops and exercises with local/regional healthcare and emergency response partners


• Excel at public speaking engagements with clear and concise messages to engage and energize an audience


• Desire to grow client engagements and develop business, growing these services regionally


• Strong knowledge and experience with current Microsoft Office suite of products (ability to work in Word and PowerPoint is a must)


• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
