Jensen Hughes is seeking Senior Fire Alarm Engineers for our Manhattan and/or White Plains, New York offices.  We are a leading fire protection consulting firm providing a range of professional services involving life safety, fire alarm, fire protection, security and mass notification on a wide variety of projects across the U.S. and internationally. Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated, experienced individuals to work in all aspects of fire protection engineering, including fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and fire protection strategies. As a member of our team you will:

 

  • Plan and direct design activities for your own projects.
  • Design fire alarm and mass notification systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings and presentations.
  • Review design and construction submittals for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems.
  • Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in fire alarm and detection system design.
  • Registered Professional Engineer, NICET certification in fire alarm, or other professional designation preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to present clear and technically sound design strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges, and endeavor to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes.
  • Ability or desire to manage/lead projects is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
