Overview

Jensen Hughes Security Risk Consulting has a career opportunity for an Investigations Manager to be the supervisor and product manager for the Investigations team and their deliverables. The successful candidate will manage a team of skilled investigators, liaise and work with clients, and supervise complex due diligence projects and internal investigations.

 

The Investigations Manager will be a trusted advisor to our clients’ legal, financial and compliance teams, helping them assess major transactions and strategic business relationships and navigate corporate disputes. The Investigations Manager will do this by providing intelligence and insights in support of mergers and acquisitions, partnership opportunities, executive hires, market entry and other complex transactions.

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead and manage:

  • Financial and fraud-related investigations for a wide range of internal matters as an extension of departments, such as security or HR, or on behalf of counsel.
  • Compliance and administrative investigations independently or as an extension of the client.
  • Investigations and subject-matter expertise for domestic and international due diligence.
  • Detailed background investigations of witnesses, subjects of an investigation or party to a suit.
  • Investigations to locate, identify and recover concealed or undisclosed assets.
  • Investigations to identify potential witnesses and subjects for interviews by or on behalf of a client.
  • Background research of potential expert witnesses who will provide testimony on the client’s behalf or for the opposing party.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Performing quality control and assurance by managing and fact-checking other team members' work and the final deliverable.
  • Deepening existing client relationships and fostering the development of new opportunities by working collaboratively with the Team Lead and Global Service Line Leader to identify clients' priorities and requirements.
  • Providing project management support and subject-matter expertise for junior team members conducting due diligence and investigation projects.
  • Efficiently tasking and aligning team members and subcontractors based on a the necessary skillset, allotted budget, team member’s billing rate and deadlines across the practice.
  • Networking with professional colleagues through seminars, conferences and meetings.
  • Maintaining skills and professional reputation by keeping abreast of developments that affect investigative research and analysis.
  • Developing team members’ professional, technical and business development skills through training and networking opportunities

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university required
  • Master’s degree, juris doctorate and/or other advanced professional security credentials or technical security skills preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant investigations experience, including at least five years of corporate experience leading and supervising a team that provides investigation and complex due diligence services and/or five years of government experience leading and supervising a team providing complex criminal, internal or inspector general-style investigations and due diligence services
  • Experience managing and working within a budget and cost management system, as well as resolving and seeking continuous improvements in work quality and productivity
  • Leadership of a successful team, including delivering performance evaluations, developing employees for advancement, and managing client relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, prepare complicated reports, and correspondence
  • Possess a familiarity with and working knowledge of a variety of commercially available investigative databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, executive staff, peers and employees at all levels of the organization

Additional Information:

  • Candidates who reside in the Chicagoland area are preferred, but not required
  • Travel expectations of approximately 10 percent
