Project Financial Analyst

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Project Financial Analyst in Baltimore, MD. This highly visible role within the organization will report to a Project Financial Manager within the Project Financial Department. The Project Financial Department oversees the financial performance of more than 20,000 projects on an annual basis acting as the business advisor to business operations, senior management, and executive leadership. The department’s focus is in on providing three key items to the company (1) providing business advisory to all levels of the organization in relation to financial projects, (2) focusing on transactional excellence in supporting financial projects, and (3) ensuring adequate compliance and controls regarding policies and procedures.


  • Reduce unbilled and Accounts Receivable thru billing and collections with a focus on lowering DSO
  • Actively manage the monthly billing process and cadence
  • Ensure quality control of invoicing and invoice process
  • Ensure billings are aligned to our contractual obligations
  • Actively manage the collections effort for a defined set of clients
  • Appropriately escalate collections issues to leadership
  • Provide tracking, analysis and trending of results
  • Works on process improvements and process documentation around unbilled and billing
  • Performs other ad hoc assignments


  • Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting or related field of study (preferred) 
  • Experience in project or service-based firms (preferred) 
  • Experience with large ERP or Accounting Software (preferred)
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in billing, collections and/or related areas 
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Detailed orientated with a focus on transactional excellence 
  • Sense of urgency and ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines 
  • A self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as within a team setting
  • Proficient in MS Office with high proficiency in Excel
